Lee is a Partner and Head of the Insolvency Team. He is dual qualified as a solicitor and a licensed Insolvency Practitioner (authorised by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA)).
Lee specialises in insolvency and restructuring as well as commercial litigation.
Lee's insolvency work covers all aspects of personal and corporate insolvency, in advising clients ranging from Insolvency Practitioners to creditors on restructuring and recovery options. His contentious insolvency experience includes:
Having acted for a commercial landlord in a successful challenge to a high profile Company Voluntary Arrangement, where the CVA sought to bring an end to the obligations of a guarantor.
A novel case where Lee's client obtained recovery of the costs of a contested High Court claim from a non-party parent company, where that non-party had placed the Defendant subsidiary into administration shortly after Judgment had been given against that Defendant.
Acting for a non-executive director of a failed PLC in respect of a multi million pound misfeasance claim brought against him by the liquidators of the PLC.
Acting for insolvency practitioners on a number of Insolvency Act 1986 claims, including applications for possession and sale of family homes in bankruptcy and Income Payment Orders in respect of pensions.
Lee qualified as a solicitor in 1992. He then qualified as an Insolvency Practitioner in 2010, becoming a full member of R3 (The Association of Business Recovery Professionals). In 2012 Lee was granted a licence by the SRA to act as an Insolvency Practitioner.
He is a member of the London Solicitors Litigation Association and is the author of the "Financial Difficulties and Winding Up" chapter for the Voluntary Sector Handbook.
