Christopher Williams

Chris is a Senior Associate solicitor in the Litigation Team.

He is experienced in advising on a wide range of commercial litigation issues including contractual disputes, professional negligence, company and partnership law disputes.

Chris has specific expertise in advising clients in intellectual property disputes, with particular emphasis in the internet field of technology cases.

His High Court experience includes:

Advising an airline in a breach of warranty claim against another airline
Advising a German bank in a claim against a partnership involving issues of estoppel, equitable forbearance and unjust enrichment
Defending four sets of related proceedings in a case which involved related judgments in several jurisdictions
Advising two PLC clients, a financial institution and an income generating arm of a government department in a range of trademark and copyright cases.
Advising in a professional negligence claim against a firm of solicitors
Advising a firm of accountants in a partnership dispute
Advising an equity partner of a law firm in a partnership dispute
Advising a retailer in a retention of title dispute

Chris has also conducted a range of cases in the County Court.

He is experienced at using Alternative Dispute Resolution procedures (‘ADR') in particular mediation, to facilitate an early settlement in a case.

Chris read History at Exeter University prior to completing his legal studies in Bristol.
